St John Ambulance Cymru’s Llanidloes Division will soon be relocating to the town’s Sylfaen building, following a decade-long search for a new home.
Having long outgrown the existing St John building in the town, the past ten years have seen the division’s members gather at various locations to hold their regular meetings and run community training sessions.
Llanidloes Division has strong roots in the community with volunteers aged from 5 to 70 years old and is the only St John division in Powys with Badgers (aged 5-11) and Cadets (aged 11-16), as well as adult members.
St John Ambulance Cymru Chief Executive, Richard Lee said:
“The members of our Llanidloes Division are a real asset to their local community as well as our charity, representing a key part of our presence in Powys. We are delighted to have found them a new home following a search of over a decade.
"This will enable the division to do even more to support the health and wellbeing of the Llanidloes community, through first aid training, medical cover at local events and opportunities for more children, young people and adults to join St John.”
Nina Davies, Director of Social Services and Well‑Being for Powys County Council, added:
“We are very pleased that St John Ambulance Cymru’s Llanidloes Division will be moving into the Sylfaen building. The division plays a hugely valued role in the community, providing vital first aid training, event support, and fantastic opportunities for children, young people, and adults to get involved in volunteering.
“It is wonderful to see the building being used in a way that continues to support the health and wellbeing of local residents, and we look forward to seeing the positive contribution the division will continue to make in its new home.”

Adran Llanidloes St John Ambulance Cymru i barhau i gefnogi'r gymuned leol yn ei chartref newydd
Bydd Adran Llanidloes St John Ambulance Cymru, sydd wedi bod yn chwilio am gartref newydd ers dros ddegawd, yn symud yn fuan i adeilad Sylfaen y dref.
Ar ôl tyfu’n rhy fawr i adeilad presennol St John yn y dref amser maith yn ôl, mae aelodau’r adran wedi ymgynnull mewn gwahanol leoliadau i gynnal eu cyfarfodydd rheolaidd a chynnal sesiynau hyfforddi cymunedol yn ystod y deng mlynedd diwethaf.
Mae gan Adran Llanidloes, sydd yn cynnwys gwirfoddolwyr rhwng 5 a 70 oed, wreiddiau cryf yn y gymuned, a dyma'r unig adran St John ym Mhowys gyda Moch Daear (5-11 oed) a Chadetiaid (11-16 oed), yn ogystal ag aelodau sy'n oedolion.
Dywedodd Prif Weithredwr St John Ambulance Cymru, Richard Lee:
“Mae aelodau ein Hadran Llanidloes yn ased gwirioneddol i’w cymuned leol yn ogystal â’n helusen, ac yn rhan allweddol o’n presenoldeb ym Mhowys. Rydym wrth ein bodd ein bod wedi dod o hyd i gartref newydd iddynt yn dilyn chwiliad o dros ddegawd.
"Bydd hyn yn galluogi'r adran i wneud hyd yn oed mwy i gefnogi iechyd a lles cymuned Llanidloes, trwy hyfforddiant cymorth cyntaf, darpariaeth feddygol mewn digwyddiadau lleol a chyfleoedd i fwy o blant, pobl ifanc ac oedolion ymuno â St John."
Ychwanegodd Nina Davies, Cyfarwyddwr Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol a Llesiant Cyngor Sir Powys:
“Rydym yn falch iawn y bydd Adran Llanidloes St John Ambulance Cymru yn symud i mewn i adeilad Sylfaen. Mae'r adran yn chwarae rhan werthfawr iawn yn y gymuned, gan ddarparu hyfforddiant cymorth cyntaf hanfodol, cefnogaeth i ddigwyddiadau, a chyfleoedd gwych i blant, pobl ifanc ac oedolion gymryd rhan mewn gwirfoddoli.
“Mae'n hyfryd gweld yr adeilad yn cael ei ddefnyddio mewn ffordd sy'n parhau i gefnogi iechyd a llesiant trigolion lleol, ac edrychwn ymlaen at weld y cyfraniad cadarnhaol y bydd yr adran yn parhau i'w wneud yn ei chartref newydd.”
