The charity bringing the community together through the cost of living crisis.

St John Ambulance Cymru’s Carmarthen Division are hosting a Winter Warm Hub event, demonstrating how the charity exists at the heart of communities in Wales.

The Winter Warm Hub event, organised by St John Ambulance Cymru volunteers, is taking place on Saturday the 11th of February, 10am till 4pm. The Carmarthen Division are opening up their hall as a space to support the community during the difficult cost of living crisis, providing a warm and comfortable space throughout the day. Volunteers will be supplying people with homemade soup, hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks. Those attending the Warm Hub can take part in card games or puzzles, listen to music or just simply have a chat with volunteers and other members of the community.

Daniel Elias, the Division’s Officer in Charge, explained why they are holding the Warm Hub event;

“We felt that the community would benefit from the Winter Warm Hub, due to the unpredictable weather and current economic climate.” Dan explained, “we all feel it would be nice for the community to have access to an environment where they can relax, have refreshments and meet up”.

“This event is a prime example of how St John Ambulance Cymru are committed to caring for the health and wellbeing of communities in Wales, looking out for members of the community who may be struggling with the cost of living crisis, and providing a safe and warm space in which people can socialise if they are feeling a little lonely”.

The St John Ambulance Cymru hall can be found at 27 Barn Road, SA31 1DD, at the top of John Street carpark in Carmarthen town centre. Anyone is welcome to come along, the Division look forward to meeting as many people as possible.
