Your local club or group can get started with raising money with some of our easy fundraising ideas below:
Organising an event - think of something that your club members would be interested in taking part in, or something that your club usually does that could also be an opportunity to raise funds for charity. If you are a sports club, then you could hold a charity sports game for example. Other ideas include a sponsored walk, a cheese and wine evening, sponsored sing-along, and holding a quiz or bingo night.
Bucket collections - bucket collections are a great way to meet members of your local community and raise money for a good cause, such as St John Ambulance Cymru. We are actually holding a Raise Your Buckets challenge where we're encouraging local clubs to bucket fundraise for us, so this is a great opportunity to help us keep making a difference! It will only take a few hours of your time and is not difficult at all.
Charity of the Year - many community groups have a charity of the year, where they choose one charity and throughout the year hold a number of activities where they try to raise money for it. We'd be honoured if you chose St John Ambulance Cymru as your local group's charity of the year.
Hold a cake sale - everyone loves cake! Get inspired in the kitchen and bring out your best cakes, and sell a slice for a small amount. It all adds up, and everyone enjoys a tasty treat!
Hold a coffee morning - Hosting a coffee morning is a great way to get people together to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and raise money for a local charity.
