It’s vital when sourcing first aid cover for your event that you choose cover from a reliable and reputable provider. This will mean that first aiders will be trained to a high standard and will be up-to-date on the latest first aid techniques, ensuring your event runs as smoothly and safely as possible.

We are sharing some tips to keep in mind when you’re choosing a first aid provider:

Ensure your provider has the correct licenses, certificates, qualifications and insurance

First aiders for your event should be qualified. Some could be registered with an official medical council e.g. the Health and Care Professions Council. At St John Ambulance Cymru our volunteers are trained to the highest standards and are always happy to show their certification.

Your first aid provider should also have the relevant insurance to cover your event.

A medical cover provider should always be transparent with you about this information, so don’t hesitate to ask!

Do some research to ensure the organisation is trustworthy and reliable

Read the organisation’s reviews thoroughly to get a better understanding of their status.

Look out for a long-standing, well-known provider and look into some of the past events they have covered.

Different events have different safety guidelines to follow, a reputable first aid provider will adhere to the relevant health and safety guidance.

St John Ambulance Cymru have been providing gold-standard first aid cover for over 100 years, covering some of Wales’ biggest events.
