Raise Your Buckets in support of St John Ambulance Cymru this spring

St John Ambulance Cymru is gearing up for its exciting Raise Your Buckets campaign, which will encourage people to fundraise and also help them stay safe while enjoying the sun’s rays.

The first aid charity for Wales is encouraging people to support its Raise Your Buckets campaign by purchasing a bucket hat or by arranging a fundraiser this year, all in support of the charity’s lifesaving work in communities across the country.

Last year saw the first ever Raise Your Buckets campaign, and you may have seen St John Ambulance Cymru volunteers holding a bucket collection at your local supermarket or wearing bucket hats at a local event. This year, St John Ambulance Cymru wants more people to get involved by arranging a fundraising day or a sponsored event.

St John Ambulance Cymru bucket hats are officially available to order online in a bright yellow or a classic white, for a suggested donation of £5-£10. Last year the charity’s bucket hats reached as far as Australia and New Zealand, and were a hit with members of the public here in Wales. Each hat sold as part of the campaign will be contributing to a safer future for communities across the country.

The campaign will also see summer safety advice shared across the charity’s channels, to ensure people are enjoying the sunny weather as safely as possible.

James Cordell, Partnership and Relationship Manager at St John Ambulance Cymru, commented:

“Raise Your Buckets is the perfect opportunity to get your workplace, school or community group engaged with some fundraising as the weather starts to warm up.

“Schools could hold a ‘dress down day’ and workplaces could arrange a bake sale or wellbeing walk.

“The money you raise will be supporting the essential services that St John Ambulance Cymru provides in local communities, such as free first aid demonstrations for schools and clubs, so your support really could mean the difference between a life saved and a life lost.”

St John Ambulance Cymru are committed to enhancing the health and wellbeing of people in Wales through vital first aid treatment, transport and training. Volunteers are the beating heart of the charity, and funds raised as part of Raise Your Buckets will be supporting their essential work.

Cyfle i ‘Godi Eich Bwcedi’ i gefnogi St John Ambulance Cymru y gwanwyn hwn

Mae St John Ambulance Cymru yn paratoi ar gyfer ei ymgyrch gyffrous Codi Eich Bwcedi, a fydd yn annog pobl i godi arian a hefyd yn eu helpu i gadw'n ddiogel wrth fwynhau tywydd heulog.

Mae elusen cymorth cyntaf Cymru yn annog pobl i gefnogi ei hymgyrch Codwch Eich Bwcedi drwy brynu het fwced neu drwy drefnu digwyddiad codi arian eleni, i gyd i gefnogi gwaith achub bywyd yr elusen mewn cymunedau ledled y wlad.

Y llynedd gwelwyd yr ymgyrch Codi Eich Bwcedi gyntaf erioed, ac efallai eich bod wedi gweld gwirfoddolwyr St John Ambulance Cymru yn cynnal casgliad bwced yn eich archfarchnad leol neu’n gwisgo hetiau bwced mewn digwyddiad lleol. Eleni, mae St John Ambulance Cymru am i fwy o bobl gymryd rhan drwy drefnu diwrnod codi arian neu ddigwyddiad noddedig.

Mae hetiau bwced St John Ambulance Cymru ar gael i’w harchebu ar-lein mewn lliwiau melyn llachar neu wyn glasurol, am gyfraniad awgrymedig o £5-£10. Y llynedd fe gyrhaeddodd hetiau bwced yr elusen cyn belled ag Awstralia a Seland Newydd, ac roedden nhw’n boblogaidd gyda’r cyhoedd yma yng Nghymru. Bydd pob het a werthir fel rhan o'r ymgyrch yn cyfrannu at ddyfodol mwy diogel i gymunedau ar draws y wlad.

Bydd yr ymgyrch hefyd yn gweld cyngor diogelwch ar gyfer yr haf yn cael ei rannu ar draws sianeli’r elusen, er mwyn sicrhau bod pobl yn gadw'n ddiogel wrth fwynhau'r haul

Dywedodd James Cordell, Rheolwr Partneriaeth a Pherthynas St John Ambulance Cymru:

“Mae Codi Eich Bwcedi yn gyfle perffaith i godi arian wrth i’r tywydd ddechrau cynhesu, yn eich gweithle, ysgol neu grŵp cymunedol.

“Gallai ysgolion gynnal ‘diwrnod heb wisg ysgol’ a gallai pobl gwerthu cacennau/teisennau yn ei gweithle neu drefnu taith gerdded lles.‘

“Bydd yr arian a godwch yn cefnogi’r gwasanaethau hanfodol y mae St John Ambulance Cymru yn eu darparu mewn cymunedau lleol, megis arddangosiadau cymorth cyntaf am ddim i ysgolion a chlybiau, felly gallai eich cefnogaeth olygu’r gwahaniaeth rhwng bywyd a achubwyd a bywyd a gollwyd.”

Mae St John Ambulance Cymru wedi ymrwymo i wella iechyd a lles pobl Cymru drwy driniaeth cymorth cyntaf hanfodol, trafnidiaeth a hyfforddiant. Gwirfoddolwyr yw curiad calon yr elusen, a bydd yr arian a godir fel rhan o ymgyrch Codi Eich Bwcedi yn cefnogi eu gwaith hanfodol.

I gael gwybod mwy am sut y gallwch godi arian neu brynu eich het fwced eich hun, ewch i www.sjacymru.org.uk/en/page/raise-your-buckets.
