Raise Your Buckets

We all love a bit of fun in the summer sun, but enjoying ourselves safely is really important.

This summer we launched a new campaign called 'Raise Your Buckets' to keep local communities safe. By supporting our campaign you will help fund lifesaving work enhancing the health and well-being of communities in Wales.

Help make a difference by getting involved

To support our 'Raise Your Buckets' summer campaign is by organising your own bucket collection or supermarket bag packing event. The funds raised will help save lives in communities across Wales.

To organise a bucket collection in your local area, you will need to contact your local supermarket manager for permission and to book a date (we can provide you with a letter of authority if required). Once it is booked please let us know by emailing fundraising@sjacymru.org.uk or calling 02920 449626.

We’ll send you everything you need including your fundraising buckets and materials, so please click here to get in touch with our friendly fundraising team today.

Our top sun safety tips

Remember your sunscreen – Apply sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 and 4 star broad spectrum sun cream every two hours. No sunscreen can provide 100% protection, so it’s important to use sunscreen with shade and loose, light clothing.

Stay hydrated – Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration when out and about.

Avoid the sun at its strongest – The sun is its strongest between 11am and 3pm, so try to limit the time you spend outside during this time. Remember to take a break and find shade under trees, umbrellas or go indoors.

And last, but not least, wear a hat and sunglasses – It’s important to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes and a wide-brimmed hat to protect your skin from UV rays. So why not order your own Raise Your Buckets' bucket hat as mentioned above.
