We’re delighted to announce our CEO Helen Smith has been announced as a finalist for two Welsh Women Awards; Services to Charity/Third Sector and CEO of the Year.
The Welsh Women Awards, now in their second year, recognise and celebrate female talent across the length of Wales at a glittering event at The Exchange Hotel, Cardiff, on 16th April*.

The awards, for which the public nominate, honour women power-houses and organisations with influential and hardworking women who are making a change in industries.
Helen has dedicated nineteen years of her working career to the third sector and continues to be committed; working with us and helping us to continue to succeed and make a difference to communities in Wales.

After completing five years as our finance director, Helen stepped into the role of CEO in February 2019. Her role became permanent in October.
Since her appointment, Helen has been the driver in leading across our diverse arms, encouraging an innovative, efficient and commercial approach while continuing to deliver our strong care and social objectives.

"I am absolutely amazed to have been nominated, let alone shortlisted as a finalist and feel truly honoured.  I have spent many years working in the third sector and am just trying to make a difference, especially in St John Cymru, a charity I feel passionately about,”
St John Ambulance Cymru Cheif Exective Officer, Helen Smith
