St John Cymru Ferryside is urging people in Carmarthenshire to support independent lifeboat crews this March.
‘Go Orange’ is a UK-wide campaign which aims to raise awareness of as many as 100 independent lifeboat stations not affiliated with Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), completely dependent upon public donations.
By wearing something orange on Friday 22nd March and donating just £1, you’ll be helping towards ensuring Ferryside Lifeboat, a division of Wales leading first aid charity, St John Cymru, can continue to help save lives at sea.
“Every penny of money raised will be donated directly to us and go exactly where it’s needed so we have the absolute best chance of saving someone in danger at sea.
Your donations could quite literally keep us afloat.”

But that’s not the only way you can get involved. Whether you fill a bathtub full of beans, wear an orange ribbon, hold a sponsored event, a bake sale or walk, you’ll be helping to support our lifeboat crew in Ferryside to continue their vital work.
The lifeboat specialists are encouraging anyone who would like to take part to share their experience using the hashtag #GoOrange
Not only this, Ferryside Lifeboat will also be holding an open day on March 23rd which will give people the opportunity to learn more about the lifeboats, the crew and the difference the lifeboats make to emergency situations at sea.

Ferryside Lifeboat was established in 1835 and has been a division of St John Cymru since the 1960’s when volunteers took over responsibility for responding to emergencies in the area - an operation which has developed since into the highly capable rescue service that exists today.
St John Cymru is Wales’ leading first aid charity which teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
