We're parading with pride this weekend

Our volunteers and colleagues will once again stand shoulder-to-shoulder to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community at this year’s Pride Cymru.

The parade, which takes place in Cardiff city centre on Saturday 24th August, will begin on North Road and loop down St Mary’s street before making its way back via Westgate Street.

Our staff and volunteers will join an anticipated 15,000 other participants including a wide range of organisations, communities and individuals from across Wales.

Rainbow epaulets will adorn the shoulders of our volunteers, showcasing St John Cymru’s commitment to equality and diversity not just within the organisation itself but also across Welsh communities.

“At St John Cymru we’re committed to ensuring first aid is for everyone.

We want our volunteers to know they are valued for their lifesaving skills no matter what their gender or sexuality and are able to express themselves proudly in an inclusive and safe environment.

Taking part in this year’s parade is yet another way in which we can demonstrate this important message.

We'd like to wish everyone attending this weekend’s events a safe and happy Pride.”
St John Cymru Acting Chief Executive Officer, Helen Smith
