We’re thrilled to announce we’re one of thousands of organisations taking part in this year’s #GivingTuesday campaign, which is taking place on the 30th November .

Started in 2014, this year’s campaign encourages people to support good causes, either by donating to charity, volunteering their time or simply helping a friend, neighbour or family member.

We’re asking people to give up just one of their usual spends, and instead donate the cost to support our vital work in local communities.

It’s been a difficult twelve months for our charity, with fundraising opportunities restricted by the ongoing pandemic, but our volunteers have remained on hand to look after their communities throughout.

From providing first aid cover as public events slowly return, to playing a key role in the success of Wales’ vaccination programme, we continue to support the NHS on the frontline.

“Giving Tuesday is an incredible initiative that has seen tens of millions of pounds raised for charities in the UK. It's centred around giving, something which our St John People do without hesitation every single day. Giving their time, skills and dedication to helping people in their communities, right across Wales.

Christmas is no exception, with our staff and volunteers giving up time with their loved ones during the festive season to help others.
So we're asking: what could you give up to help us? Could you kick the caffeine, skip an after work drink or put down that takeaway menu and donate what you'd save, to help us save lives?”
St John Ambulance Appeal Manager, Samantha Coles

“We’re all looking forward to moving on from the pandemic as soon as it is safe to do so, but it’s so important we remember the work done to help keep communities going over the last year and a half.

Giving Tuesday is a great chance to Give Back to the charities and causes that we care about, and thank them for overcoming some immense challenges over the course of this pandemic.”
CAF GivingTuesday UK Lead, Andy Frain
