This half day Basic First Aid Course is perfect for people looking for a general introduction to first aid. Not only will we teach you the most common illnesses and injuries suffered by adults, but for group bookings we can also tailor the course to meet your first aid needs.
The course will teach you how to provide basic life support until the qualified first aider arrives on scene.
This course is ideal for a nominated person working in a low risk environment. It supports employers in meeting their responsibilities where a first aid needs assessment determines that a qualified first aider is not required. Even in small, low hazard organisations where first aiders are not deemed necessary, there remains the possibility of accidents or sudden illness.
You will be continually assessed by our highly experienced St John Ambulance Cymru trainers in line with current HSE guidelines. This will be done through practical demonstrations, hands-on experience, and Q&A sessions.
After successful completion of our training, delegates will receive a St John Ambulance Cymru certificate. This first aid qualification is valid for three years. This certificate will enable you to be appointed in a small, low risk workplace to provide emergency cover in the absence of first aiders but only where the absence is due to exceptional, unforeseen and temporary circumstances. Absences such as annual leave do not count.
