IOSH Working Safely

We are one of the leading training providers in Wales for the IOSH Working Safely course. In the UK, St John Ambulance is one of the voluntary aid societies (VAS) who are recognised by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) as standard setters for first aid training in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981. We don't require external accreditation through an Awarding Organisation.

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is the largest health and safety network in the world. They offer a range of training courses including IOSH Working Safely. This iosh course is an internationally recognised training course suitable for all employees across every industry to provide important H&S knowledge for the workplace. The training also raises awareness about the responsibilities of both the employee and employer, as well as how to promote workplace safety. Our St John Ambulance Cymru IOSH Working Safely course will teach you in an informative and accessible way how and why to work safely, whether you are a line manager or you would just like an understanding of safety and health at work.

An IOSH certificate does not expire. However, to avoid skills fade and to ensure that your health and safety knowledge remains up-to-date, we recommend successful delegates consider retaking the course every 3 years.

The iosh course suitable for you will depend on your specific circumstances. If you only need a basic understanding of health and safety at work and are not in a managerial position, then IOSH Working Safely will be most suitable. Managers and supervisors should instead consider our IOSH Managing Safely course. IOSH Managing Safely lasts 3 days is equivalent to a GCSE.
