An event which saw Wales’ Head Coach Warren Gatland take to the stage for a live interview and Q&A has raised thousands for Wales’ leading first aid charity St John Cymru.

An Audience with Warren Gatland, sponsored by Hugh James, took place at Cornerstone Cardiff and was hosted by former Chief Executive of the WRU Roger Lewis. The event saw multi award-winning journalist Carolyn Hitt interview rugby legend Warren Gatland before leading a Q&A session between Gatland and the audience.

Throughout the night, guests enjoyed a delicious meal of bangers and mash as well as the opportunity to take part in a live auction where a jacket worn by Taloupe Faletau and signed by the Welsh Rugby team was offered.

In total, the evening raised over £4,000 which will help St John Cymru continue to work towards their goal of achieving a first aider in every home in Wales.

“We’re absolutely delighted at how the evening went. What a great way to celebrate our Centenary and our link to Welsh Rugby as first aid providers at every home game.

Warren was a really good sport and gave the audience a real insight into everything - including some of the hardest decisions he’s had to make professionally.

There was lots of banter and the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

We can’t thank Roger, Carolyn and Warren enough for their time and for supporting us and aiding the success of the event,”

St John Cymru Centenary Appeal Manager Samantha Coles

The event follows on from their Centenary Charity Ball also put on by the charity to celebrate their 100 year history.
