Help to save lives in your community by donating today

With support from people like you, we want to ensure that all our St John Ambulance Cymru buildings across Wales have access to lifesaving equipment, such as Public Access Defibrillators.

If someone goes into cardiac arrest, fast action with first aid and early access to a defibrillator can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

Our volunteers and trainers are already working hard to teach lifesaving first aid skills to people and communities across Wales. We now need to make sure each community has access to the right equipment, just in case of an emergency.

Please help us by selecting the region you’d like to support, and donating towards a defibrillator and other lifesaving equipment today.

Your support this Defibruary will help people like Joe

52-year-old Joe Hayward was competing in the Gritfest cycling event with a group of friends last June when he suffered a cardiac arrest out of the blue.

His friends assumed he had fainted, but quickly realised the situation was far more serious. They began CPR immediately.

St John Ambulance Cymru Responders Jack and Sam received an alert of the nearby cardiac arrest and immediately made their way to Joe’s location.

The pair assisted with CPR alongside a private medical company and spectators. After 5 shocks from a defibrillator and ongoing CPR, Joe began to breathe again.

The quick action from those around him that day, including the prompt CPR and use of a defibrillator, saved his life. “Those around him were absolutely determined to help him, and we are so thankful for them,” said Joe’s wife, Heather.
